DIY Theatre

Move over, Broadway! DIY Theatre is here for the people.

Together, your group will create a theatrical production on the topic of your choice using only what you have.

No experience needed. This team-building program is perfect for exploring creative possibilities outside the box.

Past Programs:

  • Ethnodrama
  • Theatre of the Oppressed
  • Improvisation
  • Scripted Original Musical

How long does it take?

Anywhere from 2 hours to 8 weeks! You’ll decide this, along with the style of your play, in your consultation call.

The Process:

  1. Ensemble-Building: Games and activities drawn from Viewpoints, Viola Spolin, and Theatre of the Oppressed.
  2. Devising: Through a series of generative activities, your ensemble will devise a play or musical.
  3. Rehearsal & Performance (Optional): You can perform your play at a community gathering, or just reap the benefits of the devising process.
